讲座题目：Modelling of Soft Coating Effect in Rolling Contact of Elastic Bodies

主讲内容：

    Friction and wear losses are one of the main reasons of decreasing in the efficiency of tribocouplings. One of the ways to control these processes is to apply solid lubricant coatings and greases to the surfaces of bodies. Modeling the frictional interaction of elastic bodies in the presence of coatings on their surfaces is an urgent problem; its solution makes it possible to determine the geometric and mechanical characteristics of coatings that provide the required values of friction force and controlled wear of interacting bodies under given operating conditions. The methods for solving contact problems of rolling and sliding of an axisymmetric indenter on an elastic body covered by a thin deformable coating are presented. Elastic and viscoelastic models are used to describe the mechanical behavior of the coating. The results of the contact and internal stress calculations for various coating mechanical and geometrical characterist ics make it possible to analyze the coating effects on the friction force in rolling and sliding contacts as well as on the fatigue crack formation.
